The IWCKFF's mission is to promote a sense of family that has been sorely
lacking in the wing chun community, as well as foster lines of communication
between all branches of wing chun, thus preserving Wing Chun Kuen for all
future generations.
This will be done through the following:
1) The recognition, recording and chroniclization of legitimate students,
instructors and sifus of Wing Chun Kuen, regardless of other Associations,
Federations, or affiliations of separate WCK parties.
2) The IWCKFF to be open to all practitioners for exchange of information
through videos, seminars, and publications from various Wing Chun Kuen
instructors. Likewise being a source of said material as well as traditional
and modern training aids.
3) By chronicling and gathering information on all branches of Wing Chun Kuen,
and making said information available to the public. The IWCKFF shall show no
favoritism to any family or branch of the art, but rather seeks to promote all
families and branches equally.
We believe this mission to be of the utmost good intent, and will strive to
promote understanding and tolerance between all for the future preservation of
Wing Chun Kuen. Current organizations only represent specific families (such
as the Yip Man family) or subsets and branches of a specific family. The
IWCKFF will act as a voice and source of information for all families,
regardless of location or number of students.
General Membership in the IWCKFF
General membership is available to anyone who supports the goal of
maintaining the integrity of Wing Chun Kuen, making it's methods and knowledge
free flowing and readily available, and of preserving and perpetuating the art
for the benefit of future generations. Requirements are a desire to learn
the art and see it's continued growth in the years ahead.
The rules and regulations of the IWCKFF are thus:
1. To abide by the code of ethics.
2. To willingly share information about Wing Chun Kuen responsibly
and accurately.
3. To refrain from negative criticism of other arts and practitioners
and instructors themselves.
4. To follow and support policies and decisions laid out by the Board.
A general member in the IWCKFF is not certified or recognized as an
instructor of any of the wing chun kuen systems promoted, nor does it mean an
endorsement by the IWCKFF. A general member will not use the IWCKFF to
promote themselves, their business, or any commercial products. The IWCKFF is
a registered trademark of the Ayr corporation. The General Membership cost
is (US)$25.00 annually, and General members will receive a membership card,
discounts on merchandise, training gear, etc., and access to seminars promoted
by the IWCKFF members, as well as meetings and promotions held by the IWCKFF.
Those seeking instruction in a specific branch of Wing Chun Kuen
should contact Board members or one of the IWCKFF branch headquarters.
The IWCKFF Board
The Board is the core of the IWCKFF, and membership is restricted to
recognized Sifu's of the art from any branch or family that are voted in by
current board members. The goals of The Board are to act as the current
foundation for the art by living up to the goals of the Federation (most
importantly the rules and code of ethics) acting as rolemodels for the art and
this organization, and to help plan out it's future. We realize that many
instructors of Wing Chun Kuen have formed their own organizations or grading
structures, etc. The IWCKFF is NOT intended to replace what you currently
have in place for your self, or any organization you might belong to, but
rather to ENHANCE it. It and The Board act as the common link or umbrella
that we can all grow with. Members of The Board for example, are in charge of
creating and instituting a broad based suggested grading structure and
criteria for all future instructors that will allow for a smooth exchange of
information and students between IWCKFF affiliated members. Likewise,
policies on promotion of Wing Chun Kuen and improvements in the organization
are another example. Much like the roundtable of King Arthur's court, there
are no heads of The Board and all members are treated as equals, as we all
have many important views and ideas to share.
The IWCKFF/ Board Code of Ethics
1. To always respect and promote the name and image of Wing
Chun Kuen.
2. To have mutual respect for each member and to refrain from making
any negative comments about a fellow member. If members have
grievances with each other these should be addressed in private or at
a meeting of the IWCKFF/Board and not debated in public forums.
3. To share philosophical insights and technical knowledge freely
with each other in order to further enhance each person's efficiency
and knowledge in all branches of Wing Chun Kuen, preserving Wing Chun
Kuen as a whole.
4. To be fully responsible for the actions of your subordinates --
assistants, associates, instructors, and employees; to enforce a code
of ethics that includes the guidelines set forth in this document.
If a member has a problem with a student of another member they are
to bring it up with that member for redress.
5. To have respect for any other discipline or organization a member
may be involved in outside of Wing Chun Kuen and the IWCKFF/Board.
In other words, if a member practices another martial art, their
ability should be highly regarded; however, another art should not
be referred to as Wing Chun Kuen.
6. To have respect for any and all disciplines and organizations
outside of Wing Chun and the IWCKFF/Board. The politics of the past
belong just there - the past.
